Family fun time turns into family fright time during the month of October as Halloween events and festivals abound around. If you family enjoys a little frightful delight, some ghoulish activities and family travel, here are the top scary destinations and Halloween events around the United States for you and your kids to enjoy.

Disney World’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party where your kids will enjoy a Halloween themed park, trick or treat around and a meet-and-greet with your favorite villains. Mickey’s “Boo-to-You” Halloween Parade is an eerie sight and the Ghost Hosts from the Haunted Mansion will invite you in.

Disneyland Mickey’s Halloween Party is a frightfully fun time for kids and parents alike. There is the Halloween Screams fireworks spectacular, monsters dance party and villains prowling the streets. Dress up with the kids and enjoy the party – if you dare!

Visit Salem, Massachusetts

Salem hosts events over the entire month of October, including tours of haunted and infamous spots, trial and hanging re-enactments, witches’ circles, fireworks, and a parade.

More than 250,000 people visit Salem in October, taking in a month long array of “Haunted Happenings,” and at least 75,000 more come on Halloween night. With all the witches, ghosts and other ghoulish events, it seems like the place to be on All Hallows Eve.

For instance, they do not recommend that young children under the age of 13-years-old go to the Howl-O-Scream events.

Sleep Hollow, New York

The Sleepy Hollow Cemetery hosts both daytime and lantern tours, where Washington Irving is buried, they will thrill and spook you.
